Training is booked in 4-hour increments, and we find that if the trainee has some chromatography experience, that a 1/2 day of training is typically sufficient to meet the trainee's needs. Trainees with little or no experience may require 1 full day of training (based our our evaluation after the first 1/2 day). Training is charged at $400 per half day, and up to three trainees may attend for that rate.
During the training, we will cover installation of the GC, basic operation of the gas chromatograph, preventative maintenance, and routine service for your particular instrument. We will also demonstrate and apply the features of the PeakSimple chromatography data system package necessary for your application, so that you have a good understanding of our data system and its capabilities, and most importantly, how to set up for your application. Four hours of training at SRI in Torrance is provided for free with the purchase of your GC system. Many users elect to purchase additional training when purchasing a gas chromatograph. If you are purchasing a new instrument, we will coordinate your training so that it coincides with the final QC test schedule of your order, so that your instrument can be held and set up for your training. We find it is best to train on the actual instrument that you will be using. Therefore, we ask that trainees already in possession of their instrument, to ship the instrument back to SRI's Torrance facility, so that it arrives in advance of your training. This permits us time to set it up for your session. If, during set-up, it is found that your instrument requires service in order to function properly, our service department will perform any necessary repairs prior to / during your training time. Any such service will be charged, with a $750 tune-up as the minimum base charge.

On occasion, a user must have on-site set-up and training. SRI Instruments does not offer this service, but there are other companies that offer such on-site services.
